After Hurricane Dorian: How You Can Support the Bahamas

In the wake of Hurricane Dorian on August 24, 2019, the Bahamas experienced major devastation. Entire communities have been uprooted and affected by the storm, and to help in the relief efforts for our resilient Bahamian friends, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (RCL), the parent company of Celebrity Cruises, has partnered with the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF) to provide disaster relief. The PADF team has begun work to understand the full impact of the storm, helping displaced families find accommodations, and coordinating with the community every step of the way.

The Bahamas have been a faithful, dedicated partner to Celebrity Cruises for almost 50 years, and we’re committed to giving back to them during this critical time of need. The kindness and hospitality of our friends there is what makes time spent in the Bahamas so memorable for all ages.

Sustained relief through the contributions of our community is what will help local Bahamians get back on their feet in Freeport and beyond. We hope to stand behind them with mighty and thoughtful strength in numbers.

Check out our infographic below highlighting the impact of our donations. We’re working to provide over 150,000 bottles of water, 114,400 diapers, 53,000 boxes of cereal, 20,000 daily meals, 800 rolls of toilet paper, 500 handheld flashlights, 400 generators, and much more.

In the past week or so alone, cruise ships across the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (RCL) brands have prepared and delivered 50,000 meals to the affected community, and we’re working to send hundreds of volunteers to help on the ground.

Recovery takes time and effort. So how can you help today, in real time? When you donate to the relief efforts with PADF, you’ll help restore the community. Visit www.padf.org/hurricane-dorian to make a donation today.
